Location | Hanoi and Sapa, Vietnam
Dates | December 7th-13th, 2026
Price | $5695 (Hotels and Food Included)
5 Total Participants Only
Led by New York Times assignment photographer Justin Mott, this small-group photography workshop is open to photographers of all levels who want to experience Northern Vietnam with focus, intention, and structure.
The workshop emphasizes visual storytelling over any single genre, combining photography theory with hands-on shooting in real environments. Each day includes practical assignments, time in the field, and daily group reviews, creating a learning environment that is purposeful, supportive, and grounded in real photographic practice.
Whether you’re new to photography or have years of experience, the focus is on learning how to observe more carefully, make stronger visual decisions, and work with greater intention. This is a photography workshop—not a tour—but it is designed to be collaborative, immersive, and rooted in real-world shooting situations.
Workshop Approach
The workshop is hosted by Justin and Quỳnh Anh Mott.
Justin leads all photographic instruction, assignments, lectures, and daily image reviews throughout the program, drawing from his experience working on editorial and long-form documentary assignments across Asia.
Quỳnh Anh, a Hanoi native, provides cultural context, local insight, and logistical support, helping participants engage more meaningfully with the places and people they photograph.
Group size is intentionally limited to five participants, allowing for meaningful time in the field and thoughtful, individualized feedback during reviews.
Dates & Location
The workshop takes place in Hanoi and Sa Pa, Northern Vietnam, from December 7–13, 2026.
Pricing
The workshop fee is $5,695 USD per person and applies to a maximum of five participants.
The fee is inclusive during the workshop dates, excluding airfare and visa fees.
All participants are required to sign a liability waiver.
